NEW LYRIC VIDEO AND FINDING THE COURAGE TO TAKE A CHANCE! (#9)

LET’S TAKE A CHANCE

I wrote this for my husband who has faithfully stood by my side and had the courage to say, “Let’s take a chance” 24 years ago. All of the photos in the video are from travels taken throughout our journey together. Please enjoy!

“EVERY ACCOMPLISHMENT STARTS WITH

THE DECISION TO TRY.”   BY GAIL DEVERS

This past week I have been thinking about choices and how the risks a person takes on a daily basis begin to define and shape a life. Everyday we are faced with small, minute decisions that keep our lives running smoothly (or not), while other decisions are life-changing in serious and dramatic ways.

What are the key ingredients that leave one person feeling highly successful in almost all areas of their life and others feeling as though they are always swimming upstream with a vast amount of piranhas nipping at their toes.

When I reflect back upon the time in my life when my husband said, “Let’s take a chance…” it was his honesty and devout belief in ‘us’ that captured my heart.

I have found that there are three simple guidelines that enable a person to successfully take chances over and over again.

#1) ATTITUDE – is everything!
How you feel and act toward the situation will affect every aspect of the outcome.
**Practice saying “Yes I can” over and over again.

#2) EFFORT – paves the pathway to success
I truly believe that most things in life worth having require a great deal of effort and maintenance. Relationships require care, effort, and daily attention. Any new skill or profession needs daily practice and high levels of motivation.

**Set aside time everyday that is dedicated to the success of your goals and risk taking.

#3) SUPPORTIVE NETWORKING – will help you stay strong
Surround yourself with others that support you and your dreams.
     *Spouse/partner
     *Friends
     *Family members
     *Groups

**When you are feeling discouraged, reach out to others for support.

Is there something you have always wanted to try? I ask you genuinely, “What are you waiting for?” For many years I had the following quote on my wall:

“Any attempt is a victory.”

Go ahead and give it a try!  You just might find that your hidden passions and dreams are expectantly waiting to come out and play.
