#1. The Power of Now
Here and now. That’s all we have.
Not yesterday, not tomorrow, not this afternoon.
Then why do we spend endless moments and hours worried about things that have not yet happened or something that occurred yesterday or last year?
Because we are human, we humans are programmed to plan and worry. As a result, we are experts at focusing on what robs us of joy, one fast second at a time.
Today, commit to the following:
- Refrain from worrying or thinking about anything happening tomorrow or at a future date and time.
- Whenever you think about any other time than right now, tell yourself, “All will be well.”
- Humans are sensory beings. Pay close attention to sights, sounds, and smells all day long. Our senses help ground us within the present moment and assist with savoring the tiny details that enhance our daily travels.
Keep a daily journal that tracks three savored moments you experienced throughout the day. You will be amazed at how quickly you have a list of things, people, and places to be thankful for daily.
